OP should try again (maybe over a summer semester where he can just focus on that course) and he will likely do very well. So yeah, OP shouldn't be told that oh if you keep trying you'll get or it's not a big deal but being told to give up is not the right position either. Could literally come down to course load as well. You didn't even say you should reconsider your major, just said it's probably not for you move on, next.Īnyone can learn and understand this course, eventually. I didnt even originally comment anything to him in terms of encouragement but I do think that your "oh you failed a year1 course you probably should just dropout" is a pretty shitty thing to post. Calc 3 is a new world though, and its also partially physics, which is so theoretical and different from. I remember I burned through 6 notebooks when taking Calc 2. Calc 2 youve got a rhythm going and its pure algebra and integration. And from the comments, it seems ppl can actually fail a course and still successfully get their degree. Calc 1 was definitely the hardest (AP Calc for me) because its the first one, so you dont know what to do. I did decently when I took the course a few years ago in person but I couldn't imagine how it would be online. Learning online can be the make or break. Even having a shit prof can be the make or break. Lol stfu dude he failed one course and you don't know the circumstances. The course is usually required for anyone pursuing careers in science, engineering and medicine, but it has one of the highest rates of failure and withdrawal across California State University campuses statewide. This is a place for engineering students of any discipline to discuss study methods, get homework help, get job search advice, and find a compassionate ear when you get a 40% on your midterm after studying all night. Check out the official EngineeringStudents Discord!: discord.gg/EngineeringStudents If students fail to achieve the minimum score, they are later administratively dropped from the course, but occasionally a student is overlooked and remains in the course inadvertently.
